Goutam buddha was born in this temple then it is famous.It was discovered in 1895 by a German archaeologist, Feuhrer, when he found the great pillar at the foothills of the Churia range.Here is the temple surrounding the spot where the Buddha was born, Lumbini, Nepal. My guide said that it had been painted white some years back.
